Q: Why would I use a Brava! viewer instead of Microsoft Office products?

A: There are many times that you may want to use a Brava viewer rather than a Microsoft Office product:

  • common interface for all files

  • centrally managed markups

  • view in format only readable by Brava viewers, no interception possible

  • no editing of source file because viewing a quality rendition of the native file

  • can't save file locally with Brava, so content stays secure

  • view on the web or desktop

Q: What if I need to send a file outside of the company?

A: Convert the file to CSF and distribute it with the free Brava Reader. Creating a CSF file is easy and allows you to redact (block out) sensitive content, password protect or expire the file, disable features like printing and markup, and more.

Q: What kind of CAD support do you offer?

A: Our Brava Enterprise and Desktop viewers can support many native formats, some of which are listed below. Virtually any format can be supported through our effortless CSF publishing.

  • AutoCAD (DWG, DXF, DWF)

  • MicroStation

  • Plot files (906/907, HPGL)

  • HP CAD ME10

  • Inventor 2D

  • Solid Edge 2D

  • SolidWorks 2D

  • Many more, both natively and by publishing to CSF

Q: Why should I convert files to CSF? Is there an advantage over PDF?

A: CSF offers a convenient, secure way to share content outside the walls of the company. As with PDF, there is a free reader, but unlike PDF, CSF is a proprietary format that cannot be edited by any application and is only viewable with viewers from Informative Graphics. This, along with other security features like redaction (block out) of sensitive content and the ability to expire the file and disable features like printing, cut\copy, markup, and more make CSF more secure than PDF.  Our fidelity and feature-set for CAD is also better than Adobe's offering.

Q: How are markups managed?

A: Markups are stored centrally on your server in a directory specified by you.  Markups can be reviewed, but not edited, by authorized users. Other users can add their own comments or create individual markup files of their own.
